Dhaka-- – Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria yesterday (Wednesday) said the present government has been pursuing policy to encourage private sector investment in infrastructure sector.

“The government permitted private sector investment in power, telecommunication, gas exploration and other sectors,” he told the visiting ADB Country Consultation Mission that met him at his office.

Christine Wallich, Director, Infrastructure Energy and Financial Sector Department (West) of ADB led the Mission, that also had separate meetings with FBCCI president Yussuf Abdullah Harun and Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Mohammad Farashuddin.

Resident Representative of ADB Phiphit Suphaphiphat was also present during the meetings.
